Meet the Staff
Aurora Ozzimo
Aurora is a seasoned professional, diligently honing her craft with a career that spans over four decades. She has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1982. Her journey has been marked by dedication and a commitment to excellence, with the majority of her career spent apprenticing with master barbers, establishing herself as a true veteran in the hair industry.
Aurora and her family relocated to the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC, from Naples, FL, in 2007. A devoted mother of 5 and a grandmother to 8, Aurora’s legacy extends beyond her career, with two of her children who have followed in her footsteps.
Aurora’s professional experience includes years of technical training and a management position through the Supercuts Corporation, apprenticing at several barbershops in Florida, and a total of 13 years at two iconic barbershops in Asheville: Fox Barbershop and Joe Kings, where she continued to hone her skills. With an innate understanding of both male and female hair, Aurora effortlessly tailors her skills to cater to a broad spectrum of tastes for those who appreciate technical excellence, attention to detail, and a personalized touch in every haircut.
Aurora’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to take the next step in her career by establishing her own business, Clipperz, in 2021. At Clipperz, Aurora has combined her wealth of experience and warm artistic flair to create an inviting space where clients can enjoy a top-notch grooming experience.
Susan Hill Gousby
Susan is an Asheville native, spending her younger years on the Albemarle Sound where her family relocated, then returned home later where she started her family and raised her 3 boys. Susan has been in the hair industry since 1978. She spent the better half of her career servicing clients in the Flat Iron building in downtown Asheville in the 90’s. She has also been a manager for Great Clips and had an in house business while living in Greenville, Tennessee. Before joining Clipperz, Susan previously owned and operated the Historic Joe Kings Barber shop on Merrimon Avenue. Now, semi retired, she welcomes taking a step back, to enjoy more time with her grandson. She’s excited to transition her clients and be part of the Clipperz team.
Linda Spears
Linda has served in the beauty industry since 1982. She and her family moved from Springfeild, Missouri to Asheville in 1994 where she raised her 4 children and now enjoys her 5 grandchildren. Linda previously worked at Joe Kings Hair Shop for 13 years where she provided services to a variety of customers offering a wide range of services. Now she is looking forward to serving you at Clipperz.
Kelly Thornton
Kelly started out her career in the hair industry in 1988 in Indianapolis, Indiana where she managed different hair shops. In 1999 she relocated to Florida to open and manage a new shop for the Supercuts franchise in Naples. Her focus and passion on designing the perfect haircut lead her to transition into a local barbershop to hone her skills. Seeking a change in environment, she moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina in the summer of 2010. She took a position with East Barbershop in Oteen until their closing in 2021. Kelly joined the team at Joe Kings Hair Shop for a short period of time before transitioning with the girls to join Clipperz, where she is excited to meet your haircut expectations.
Deborah Stewart
Deborah is a Madison County native, born and bred. She enjoys her life in the country where she resides in her grandmother's old farmhouse on her old family property. She started her career in haircutting in 1996. She co-owned and operated Fox Barbershop in Asheville with her husband Gary for the last 20 years before joining the gals at Clipperz. She enjoys the relationships she has cultivated with her clients over the years and loves to take her time and cater to new clients. Deborah has two sons, two beautiful granddaughters and two dogs she adores. In her own words. “She loves coon huntin', bear huntin' and loves to eat rabbit. She loves an old F350 truck with a rebel flag flying on the back. Y’all come out see me at Clipperz!"
